Two MQ-9 Reaper aircraft temporarily relocating to Davis-Monthan AFB through April 2027

Monday, July 20, 2026 · Reported by KGUN 9 Local News

Two MQ-9 Reaper aircraft from the Arizona Air National Guard’s 214th Attack Group will temporarily operate from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base while construction is completed at Fort Huachuca.

The aircraft are moving to Davis-Monthan to use available hangar space. The 214th Attack Group is part of the 162nd Wing and is based at Fort Huachuca.

People in the Tucson area and Davis-Monthan personnel may notice more Reaper takeoffs and landings. The added activity is expected to continue through April 30, 2027, for routine training missions.

The 214th Attack Group and Davis-Monthan will follow Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Defense flight rules while working to limit effects on nearby communities. Only two aircraft are involved in the temporary relocation.
