Monday, July 20, 2026 · Reported by KOLD
Rep. Stephanie Stahl Hamilton spoke with Tucson Now about her work in the Arizona House and her priorities for the current election cycle.
Hamilton said her campaign motto, “fight like a mother,” reflects her approach to public service. She first ran for office in 2020 after seeing what she believed was inadequate pay for her husband, a middle school teacher.
She now serves as the ranking member on the Appropriations Committee and sits on the Government, and Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs committees.
Hamilton also discussed her interest in creating a government-funded preschool and daycare program. She described the program as a necessity for parents.
