Tucson Now: Jackie Anderson’s plan for District 19

Jackie Anderson, a Clean Elections candidate for the Arizona House, discussed her campaign platform while running to represent District 19.

Anderson said human dignity is central to her approach and that she considers how proposed policies could affect people across Arizona.

Water is another major focus of her campaign. She supports collecting more data and increasing the budget for the state water board, saying water is essential to life.

Anderson also discussed healthcare access, drawing on 32 years in Southern Arizona and 19 years at an Arizona critical access hospital. She said progress has been made for uninsured residents, but more legislative work and grant funding are needed. Her platform also includes stronger oversight of school vouchers and a focus on affordability.
