Tucson Now: Consuelo Hernandez’s plan for District 21

Consuelo Hernandez, a candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives in District 21, discussed her campaign on Tucson Now ahead of the July 21 election.

Hernandez said she began door knocking at age 14 and has worked in her community since before she could vote. She described her campaign with one word, grit, and said helping people have a voice matters whether she wins or loses.

Her top priorities include economic development and affordable housing. Hernandez wants to work with state partners to protect opportunities involving programs, apprenticeships and public schools. She also supports expanding programs for first-time homebuyers and increasing access to housing options.
