Tucson nonprofit raises money for grieving parents who’ve lost a child

A Tucson nonprofit is raising money and providing support for parents who have lost a child.

Tamara Gabriel started Healing Hugs after her 9-year-old daughter, Janna, died in a car crash in 1997. The group helps grieving families with emotional and financial support.

Healing Hugs held its annual Zumba fundraiser over the weekend. Donations help pay for counseling resources, funeral expenses and other costs. Gabriel said the community’s strong turnout brought hope and encouragement to families facing loss.
