Stretch of extreme heat threatens all-time monthly records through Sunday across southern Arizona

Southern Arizona is facing several more days of dangerous heat. Friday will be sunny with a high near 110 degrees, followed by a low around 84 overnight.
Saturday is expected to be the hottest day in the forecast, with sunny skies and a high near 112. Sunday will also be mostly sunny and hot, reaching about 110 degrees. A slight chance of showers and storms begins Saturday night and continues Sunday.
Temperatures will gradually ease next week, with highs near 107 Monday, 104 Tuesday and around 101 to 102 from Wednesday through Friday. Storm chances will increase at times, reaching 50 percent Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
