Search for Nancy Guthrie hits six-month mark as family pleads for answers

Six months after Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills, investigators continue searching for answers. Authorities believe she was kidnapped in the early morning hours of Feb. 1.

Blood found near her front door was confirmed to be Nancy’s. Doorbell camera footage later showed a masked man outside her home, and investigators say the videos suggest he took steps to prepare for the incident.

Search teams and volunteers have covered desert areas near Tucson and the Arizona-Mexico border. Investigators are also examining DNA evidence and ransom notes sent to media outlets. The FBI has said some of the notes appear to be extortion attempts, while others are still being evaluated.

Nancy’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie, recently renewed the family’s plea for information and asked anyone who knows where her mother is to come forward. Tips can be reported to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900, or 88-CRIME anonymously.
