List: Here's who won Southern Arizona’s contested primary elections

Pima County finished counting ballots Monday from the July 21 primary election. The results will determine which candidates advance to the November ballot, though they remain unofficial until the county canvass.

In Legislative District 18, Democratic Reps. Nancy Gutierrez and Chris Mathis ran unopposed for the state House. They will face Republican Bob Dohse in November. Democratic state Sen. Priya Sundareshan and Republican Douglas Everett also ran unopposed in their respective primaries.

In LD19, Republicans David Gowan and Lupe Diaz won the two House nominations, defeating Cherl Caswell. They will face Democrats Jackie O'Donnell Anderson and Aiden Nicholette Swallow in November. No Democrats ran for the Senate, and Republican Rep. Gail Griffin won her primary without opposition.

In LD20, Democrats Sally Ann Gonzales and Betty Villegas won the two House nominations, with no Republicans qualifying for the race. Alma Hernandez defeated Rocque Perez by 602 votes for the Democratic Senate nomination. In LD21, Consuelo Hernandez and Miranda Lopez won the two Democratic House spots. Lopez defeated incumbent Stephanie Stahl Hamilton by 283 votes. Democrat Rosanna Gabaldón won the Senate primary without opposition and will face Republican Esteban Flores in November.

Pima County reported 186,616 ballots cast, for turnout of just under 29%, slightly above the statewide rate of 27%. The county Board of Supervisors is scheduled to canvass the results Aug. 3.
