Hair found in Nancy Guthrie's home not linked to suspect in abduction: Sheriff

Testing is complete on hair found at Nancy Guthrie’s home in the Tucson area, and the results did not connect it to a suspect, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told ABC News.

Guthrie, 84, was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31. Investigators believe a masked man seen on her doorbell camera took her from her home in the early hours of Feb. 1.

The only known biological evidence is a mixed DNA sample found at the home. Nanos said it may contain DNA from as many as four people, and several laboratories around the country are working to determine whether it can be separated and identified.

Nanos said investigators have not determined whether the masked man acted alone. He said the case remains solvable and urged anyone with information about Guthrie’s disappearance to contact authorities. Savannah Guthrie, Nancy’s daughter and a “Today” show host, has continued calling attention to the case on social media.
