Guthrie family renews plea 6 months after Nancy Guthrie's disappearance from Tucson home

Savannah Guthrie is renewing her family’s request for information six months after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared from her Tucson-area home. Nancy Guthrie is 84 and was last seen alive on Jan. 31.

Savannah Guthrie shared a photo of her mother and a statement on Instagram. She wrote that Nancy was taken from her bed overnight and said she and her siblings, Cameron, Kristine, Annie, Tommy and Mike, have faced daily uncertainty since her disappearance.

The family is seeking answers so they can give Nancy a proper goodbye. Savannah Guthrie also asked anyone with information to come forward, including people who may recognize the handwriting in ransom notes connected to the case. Tips may be submitted anonymously, and a reward remains available.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department released the full text of two ransom notes one day before Guthrie’s post. The first, sent Feb. 2, demanded $4 million to $6 million in bitcoin for Nancy’s safe return. A second note, sent four days later, claimed she had died soon after being taken and that her death was unintentional. The FBI has been assisting county investigators.
