From an active monsoon pattern, to extreme heat
Wednesday, July 22, 2026 · Reported by KGUN 9
Southeast Arizona will see fewer thunderstorms today as moisture decreases and the monsoon pattern weakens. Showers and storms should be widely scattered, with most activity east of Tucson.
Storm chances will remain low over the next few days, and storms are expected to be less organized.
Afternoon temperatures will rise quickly late this week and into the weekend. A shift in the upper-level pattern could bring a better chance for strong, organized storms Saturday and Sunday.
