Casino Del Sol has released the first interior photos of Vahi Taa’am, giving Tucsonans a look at the new gaming and entertainment destination before its scheduled Nov. 15 opening.
The 163,000-square-foot property is at 1055 W. Grant Road near Interstate 10. It is the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s third gaming property and is expected to create about 500 jobs in Southern Arizona.
Vahi Taa’am, pronounced vah-hee tah-ahm, means “Three Suns” in the Yoeme language. Tribal leaders have said the name reflects the community’s future while honoring Pascua Yaqui culture and heritage.
Casino Del Sol is holding a hiring event from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the PYT Wellness Center in Tucson. Applicants should bring a resume and wear business or casual clothing. Some applicants may receive job offers during the event.
