Extreme Heat Warnings remain in effect as sizzling hot temperatures continue to bake southern Arizona

Extreme Heat Warnings have been extended through Monday evening as dangerous heat continues across southern Arizona.

Highs could reach 113 degrees in areas west of Tucson. Communities south and east of the city, which are usually cooler, are expected to exceed 100 degrees.

Only isolated thunderstorms are expected this weekend, with the best chance for rain east and southeast of Tucson. A better chance of storms is expected early next week.

Those storms may bring some relief, with temperatures expected to drop slightly into the low 100s by Wednesday. Residents should take the heat seriously and stay safe.
