Deputies: “Delusion” may have led man to murder his mother
Monday, July 27, 2026 · Reported by KGUN 9 Local News
Pima County sheriff’s deputies say a delusion may have played a role in the death of a woman in Rancho Del Lago. Andre Tyrone Tillmon, 38, is charged with first degree murder in the death of his mother, 65-year-old Cindy Kreider.
A neighbor called 911 on Friday, and rescue crews found Kreider face down on the kitchen floor. Deputies reported blunt force trauma to her face, including an injury above her left eye.
Investigators said surveillance video showed Tillmon leaving the home about an hour after Kreider had been on a FaceTime call. Deputies arrested him Saturday.
According to court documents, Tillmon told investigators he punched his mother several times and left her on the floor without helping her. He reportedly said he believed his life was in danger and did not believe his mother was real. Deputies said he told them he understood right from wrong but hit her anyway. He remains jailed on a $750,000 bond.
