Arrest made in death of 65-year-old Vail woman, deputies say

A 38-year-old man is facing a first-degree murder charge after his mother was found dead inside their shared home in the Vail area, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies said Andre Tyrone Tillmon was arrested Friday afternoon by PCSD detectives. Investigators identified him as a suspect based on evidence gathered during the investigation. Tillmon lived at the home with his mother.

Deputies responded to the residence near Rancho Del Lago shortly before 5 p.m. on July 24, at the request of the Rincon Valley Fire District. They found 65-year-old Cindy Kreider dead inside.

Detectives observed trauma and other concerning evidence at the scene. The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner is working to determine Kreider’s exact cause of death. Tillmon is expected to be booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex after processing.
