Arizona primary election results: Live updates from Southern Arizona

Southern Arizona voters are taking part in Arizona’s July 21 primary election, with races for governor, statewide offices, legislative seats and local offices on the ballot. Polls close at 7 p.m., and results will be updated as they become available.

Contested legislative races are being decided in Districts 17, 19, 20 and 21. Local contests include mayoral and council races in Oro Valley, South Tucson, Marana, Sahuarita, Benson, Bisbee and Nogales.

Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and Attorney General Kris Mayes are each unopposed in their party primaries. Other statewide races include state treasurer and superintendent of public instruction.

The state’s official canvassing process begins July 27. Counties must finish by Aug. 3, followed by the statewide canvass on Aug. 6. The general election is scheduled for Nov. 3.
