Arizona football opens fall camp with high expectations, Heisman-level QB leading the way

Arizona football opened fall camp Wednesday at the Cole and Jeannie Davis Sports Center, beginning its third season under head coach Brent Brennan. The Wildcats are entering camp with higher expectations after a season that came close to 10 wins.

Quarterback Noah Fifita remains the focus of the team. He is returning to offensive coordinator Seth Doegge’s system, giving him and the offense added familiarity and confidence. Fifita also spent the first day developing timing with several groups of receivers.

The Wildcats showed plenty of energy during the opening practice, with players celebrating their return and working together. Brennan said the team feels further along than it did previously.

Fifita said Arizona’s goals for his final season are a Rose Bowl appearance and a Big 12 championship. With continuity on the coaching staff, a veteran quarterback and depth among its skill players, the Wildcats believe they are positioned for a strong season.
