A Better Community hosts 4th annual Back to School Bash to support students and families

A Better Community hosted its fourth annual Back to School Bash in Tucson, bringing hundreds of students and families together ahead of the new school year.

Organizers and community groups provided free backpacks, school supplies, shoes, haircuts, laptops and other items. Families also received information about additional resources, including food boxes and mental health services.

The event helped families manage the cost of getting ready for school. Students said the supplies and community support made it easier to begin the school year prepared.

Trehon Coleman, executive director of A Better Community, said the gathering was meant to remind families that they have support and are not alone.
