10 hospitalized, including suspect, in downtown Tucson shooting

A shooting at Empire Pizza in downtown Tucson early Sunday left nine people with gunshot wounds, according to police. All nine were taken to the hospital with critical injuries to their arms or legs.

Officers arriving around 2 a.m. encountered a male suspect running from the scene. After giving him several commands, a uniformed officer fired a department-issued gun and struck the suspect.

The suspect was hospitalized in critical condition, bringing the total number of people hospitalized to 10. No officers were injured.
