Tucson Paracon

About This Event

Tucson Paracon is a Tucson event created to bring like minded people together around the city's history and its haunted mysteries. The inaugural Tucson Paracon 23 was presented as a mini-con designed to launch an annual Tucson Paracon. Hosted by a Tucson 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to giving back to the local community, the event focused on sharing awareness of Tucson's history while approaching its haunted stories in a positive way.

The first mini-con took place at the Fox Tucson Theatre on August 19, 2023. The daytime portion ran from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and featured seven speakers described by the organizers as world known researchers and investigators. Their areas of interest included ghosts, UFOs, aliens, and Bigfoot, bringing several forms of paranormal investigation together for one Tucson gathering.

The event was structured around presentations and shared interests, with attendees able to explore subjects connected to unexplained phenomena and Tucson's haunted mysteries. Organizers also planned an array of merchandise options and experiences for attendees. The combination of speakers, merchandise, and special activities gave the mini-con a broader format than a single presentation, while keeping the focus on paranormal research, local history, and community.

The evening concluded with a separate ghost investigation of the Fox Theatre. Kris Williams, known from the Sci-Fi television show "Ghost Hunters," was scheduled to take part in that investigation. Participation was limited to 36 VIP ticket holders, making the investigation a distinct part of the event rather than a general activity for everyone attending the daytime mini-con. The organizers described the investigation as a one of a kind experience intended to cap the launch of Tucson Paracon.

Tucson Paracon 23 was presented by the Tucson Ghost Company. Although the 2023 event has passed and is no longer on sale, its stated purpose was to establish a recurring Tucson Paracon and create a gathering for people interested in the city's history, haunted mysteries, and paranormal research. Visitors to the inaugural event could expect a full day at the Fox Tucson Theatre, seven featured speakers, merchandise and other experiences, followed by the separately scheduled ghost investigation that evening.
