2nd Saturdays at the Fox | Music & Movies was a Fox Tucson Theatre event series pairing live performances by local music artists with music-themed films. The evening's musical performance featured Las Azaleas, a Tucson all-Latina musical group presenting "Como la Flor" in celebration of Selena. The group invited audiences to sing along with some of Selena's greatest hits. Formed by Diana Olivares in the summer of 2020, Las Azaleas has a stated mission of sharing the work of pioneering women in Latin music. Its sound is influenced by mariachi, trio, and bolero music, and its repertoire is selected to support greater acknowledgment of Latina artists from the past and present.

Las Azaleas has performed throughout Tucson and made its Fox Tucson Theatre debut in March 2022, when the group served as support for the Grammy-winning group Flor de Toloache. The ensemble was also appointed musical directors for the 2021 All Souls Procession Finale Ceremony, where it performed for thousands of Tucson citizens and represented the Mexican American community and strong, empowered Latinas at a significant city event. Other appearances listed by the group include the Tucson International Mariachi Conference Garibaldi, the Pueblos del Maíz Bocaditos event, Tohono Chul Holiday Nights, the Bisbee Mariachi Festival, and a North American Association for Environmental Education conference.

The group's regular Tucson appearances have included Del Cielo Tamal Restaurant, the Downtown Clifton Hotel, and Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Las Azaleas describes itself as Latina-led and expresses pride in Tucson, with the hope of inspiring audiences and young musicians to pursue their dreams and passions. Its participation in the Fox program connected that local musical work with a film about another Latina artist and helped frame the evening around Mexican American music, performance, and cultural representation.

After the concert, the Fox screened the 1997 biographical drama Selena. The film follows Selena Quintanilla, played by Jennifer Lopez, as she grows up in a musical Mexican American family in Texas. Her father, Abraham, played by Edward James Olmos, recognizes her talent and begins performing with her at small venues. The story also covers Selena's success, her relationship with guitarist Chris Perez, her father's concerns, and her attempt to record an English-language album that she would never complete.

General admission for the event was listed at $15, with a military discount available through the box office. The September 9, 2023 presentation has passed and is no longer on sale. The format established by 2nd Saturdays at the Fox combined a live Tucson performance with a film selected around music, giving audiences an evening that moved from a local stage to a feature presentation in the Fox Tucson Theatre.
