Tucson Mountain Park Archery Range is a Pima County archery facility serving Tucson and the surrounding southern Arizona community. Located within Tucson Mountain Park, the range is part of the county's Parks and Recreation Shooting Sports offerings. It provides a place for archers to practice target shooting, with both a standard practice range and three trail courses designed around a variety of target distances.
The practice range includes targets set from 20 to 70 yards. In addition, visitors can use three 14-target trail courses, offering a different format for archers who want to move through a course rather than remain at a single firing position. The facility also includes a large covered shaded area, picnic tables in the shade, two ramadas with picnic tables and grills, restrooms, and a water fountain. Use of the Tucson Mountain Park range is limited to archery target shooting. Hunting, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, firearm shooting, and off-highway vehicle use are not permitted at the facility. Hunting broadheads are prohibited, and crossbow shooting is not allowed at this range. All shooting must take place from the firing line, perpendicular to the shooting positions, and into county-provided targets and backstops. Archers must coordinate before going downrange, and no one may shoot or draw a bow while archers are downrange.
Range users are responsible for safe shooting and for following the posted rules and applicable state and local laws. Children under 16 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or responsible adult. Alcohol and drugs are prohibited, as are glass containers, and visitors are expected to place trash in the provided containers. Before shooting, archers need to pay through the online system using the QR code posted on site unless they have a current annual archery range pass in their possession. The county also offers training information for those getting started, while regular users can review the range requirements before arriving.
