About Rock Solid Climbing + Fitness
Rock Solid Climbing + Fitness is an indoor climbing and fitness center in Tucson, offering a climbing wall with both bouldering and harness areas. Located in northwest Tucson just off I-10, the facility is also connected directly to the Bike Loop. Its focus is a multidisciplinary approach to rock climbing, bringing together climbing space, training equipment, group classes, and programs for adults, children, families, and visitors who are new to the sport.
The facility has more than 12,000 square feet of climbing space, with features designed to support different climbing styles and levels of experience. Its indoor climbing area includes a top out section, an adjustable-angle training wall, an auto belay corner, and bouldering walls set at nearly every angle. This range of terrain provides options for climbers working on technique, strength, movement, or simply becoming familiar with indoor climbing. The facility's bouldering areas do not require a harness, while the auto belay and other harness areas support climbing with additional equipment.
Rock Solid also provides a dedicated training grounds area for climbing and general fitness. Equipment includes a Kilter Board, MoonBoard, Tension Board, spray walls, free weights, hangboards, space for bodyweight exercises, and cardio equipment. The fitness studio adds yoga and fitness classes to the climbing-centered facility. Instruction is available in climbing, weight training, yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, and dance fitness, with private and small group instruction offered by arrangement. The gym also provides an Intro to Climbing option for people beginning the sport.
Programs extend beyond open climbing and individual training. The schedule and program offerings include studio classes, adult training, coached climbing, circuit sessions, and a college night. Youth offerings include summer camp, climbing club onboarding, a summer reading program, homeschool programs, family climb time, and birthday parties. Rock Solid also lists memberships, single and multi-visit options, and an introduction series, giving visitors several ways to participate depending on their experience and level of commitment. The facility has also hosted the Old Pueblo Classic, with results posted through its website.
Getting started can begin with an online waiver, which the facility recommends completing before arriving. Rock Solid notes that staff and community members are available to help people who are new to climbing. Members with unstaffed access privileges may use the facility around the clock after completing an unstaffed access orientation and paying the applicable unstaffed access charges.
