About Milo Fitness Factory

Milo Fitness Factory is a Tucson gym and CrossFit box centered on strength and conditioning, functional fitness, and sustainable training. Located just north of downtown with access off I-10, the gym welcomes people at every fitness level, from beginners to experienced gym members. Its stated mission is to help members succeed, and its training philosophy is summed up in the phrase, "Train to Keep Training." The goal is to work hard while training in a way that supports coming back the next day.

The gym offers several ways to train. MiloFit Group Class focuses on functional movements that mirror everyday activities, with coaching intended to build strength, agility, confidence, and overall fitness. Fire Factory is a fast-paced, team-oriented class combining strength and cardio activities. Members can also use open gym hours to practice technique, complete additional workouts, or make up a missed session. Other listed programs include Foundations, Strength and Conditioning, Olympic Lifting, and Myofascial Release. Class programming incorporates bodyweight and gymnastics movements, cardio and metabolic conditioning, and strength work using barbells, dumbbells, and kettlebells.

Milo Fitness Factory emphasizes universal scalability, meaning workouts can be adapted for people with different levels of experience and ability. Coaches focus on helping members move safely and efficiently while developing power, strength, speed, balance, mobility, endurance, and agility. The gym describes its approach as building bodies up rather than breaking them down, with guidance designed to help members understand the work, use the available tools, and continue making progress. For beginners, the gym recommends starting with two to four classes a week and gradually working toward more frequent training as the body adjusts and recovery needs become clearer.

The name Milo comes from the legend of Milo of Croton, a farmboy and wrestling champion in ancient Greece who is said to have lifted and carried a calf as it grew into a bull. The story reflects the gym's view of progress as a step-by-step process, with members pushed, challenged, and supported along their own fitness journeys. Owners Kare and Alan Williams say they started the gym after facing many of the same obstacles that can make healthy living difficult for their clients. The coaching team includes Kare Williams as owner, programmer, and head coach; Alan Williams as owner and lead coach; Race Williams as Olympic lifting coach; Cody McCullar as coach; and Abby Bird, PT, DPT, as physical therapist.

The atmosphere is described as bright, clean, friendly, and community-minded, with coaches who support members rather than assuming everyone arrives with the same goals or experience. The facility includes changing rooms and showers, secure parking, top-of-the-line workout equipment, weekend classes, and filtered water for members. An air-conditioned play area is also available. Getting started begins with a free trial, during which the gym says it will discuss fitness goals, assess an appropriate starting point, and help identify a suitable program. From there, members can choose a gym membership and receive guidance as they build consistent habits in the Tucson fitness community.
