About Gingeroot - Acupuncture & Massage Therapy
Gingeroot - Acupuncture & Massage Therapy is a Tucson wellness practice offering massage therapy, acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, fire-cupping, Traditional Chinese Medicine, holistic nutrition, and sound healing. Founded by Jordan and Ginger, the practice describes its work as holistic and comprehensive, with care shaped around each person's needs. Its stated approach combines Western and Eastern modalities, with an emphasis on listening, collaboration, and addressing the underlying concerns behind pain and other health challenges.
The practice's services include acupuncture, massage therapy, fire-cupping, craniosacral therapy, Chinese Medicine, holistic nutrition, and sound journeys. Gingeroot also presents sound healing as part of its offerings, including immersive sound bath experiences. The practice's "Rooted Approach" is built around bringing several forms of care together under one roof rather than treating each concern as an isolated issue. Its website describes the goal as supporting a person's wellness journey through individualized care, rather than relying on a temporary fix.
Ginger's path into Chinese Medicine began during a period of severe health challenges in her early 20s. While living in Phoenix, she received treatment from an elderly Chinese couple practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine. She credits that first treatment with bringing profound relief from severe body pain, brain fog, insomnia, and crippling fatigue. That experience led her to pursue Chinese Medicine and shaped the detailed, comprehensive, and warm style of acupuncture she practices today.
Ginger is a nationally board-certified and Arizona-licensed acupuncturist, with training from the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Tucson. Her areas of study include acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, tuina and other Asian bodywork, electroacupuncture, guasha, fire-cupping, herbal medicine, moxa, qi gong, Chinese food therapy, tongue and pulse diagnosis, and Dr. Tan's Balance Method. Her listed areas of focus also include fertility, female hormonal health, menopause management, menstrual cycle tracking, herbal medicine, comprehensive lab interpretation, and advanced natural skincare formulation. She is pursuing a Doctor of Acupuncture degree through Yo San University in Los Angeles, with a listed completion date of May 2027.
Her education also includes certification as a health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and certification as a holistic nutrition practitioner through Pacific Rim College, along with training in Chinese Food Therapy. Gingeroot's website lists more than 10 years of health coaching experience. Ginger has also studied Applied Kinesiology, including muscle testing, neurolymphatic techniques, neurovascular holding points, food and supplement testing, meridian balancing, and structural and energetic imbalances. Her additional training includes polyvagal theory and vagus nerve regulation, and she is certified in perinatal mental health.
Gingeroot's story began when Jordan and Ginger met professionally and developed a friendship and complementary understanding of each other's practices in 2023. That harmony led to the idea of opening Gingeroot in April 2024. The practice says it was created as a safe space for healing and wellness within the Tucson community. Appointments begin through Gingeroot's booking process, and its website also features community events such as sound bath experiences.
