John Ranny's background in automotive repair began after he joined the Navy in 1973 and developed his electrical skills as an aviation electrician. His experience eventually led to a role as shop foreman at a large dealership in the New York metropolitan area. There, he saw how gaps in communication between customers, service writers, and technicians could make vehicle repairs more frustrating than necessary. That experience shaped his vision for a repair facility centered on open communication.
Ranny opened his first repair facility in central New Jersey in 1987. In 1996, he relocated to Tucson and established European Auto Tech. Over the years, he developed the business into a well-equipped facility serving the local community. The shop's ASE-certified Master Technicians are described as having a combined 75 years of experience focused on German car repair in Tucson.
