About Arizona Inn
Arizona Inn is a historic Tucson resort and guest property with a casita-style design, garden courtyards, and a long connection to the city. Since 1930, it has offered a retreat in the Sonoran Desert, set among pink adobe walls, shaded patios, flowering garden paths, and palms. The property includes 90 rooms and suites, each reached by garden paths and arranged with private entrances that give the accommodations a sense of seclusion. Its 14-acre grounds also include a pool and tennis courts, creating a setting that combines lodging, dining, recreation, and gatherings in one Tucson destination.
The Inn's history began with Isabella Greenway, Arizona's first congresswoman. In 1929, Greenway opened The Arizona Hut, a furniture workshop created to provide meaningful employment for disabled World War I veterans. In response to the Great Depression, she established Arizona Inn in 1930, helping generate demand for the workshop's craftsmanship while creating a hospitality retreat in the desert. That founding purpose remains part of the property's story. Arizona Inn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, recognizing its architectural and cultural significance in Tucson. In 2025, a new chapter began under local stewardship focused on preserving the Inn's legacy and carrying it forward.
