About Arizona Inn

Arizona Inn is a historic Tucson resort and guest property with a casita-style design, garden courtyards, and a long connection to the city. Since 1930, it has offered a retreat in the Sonoran Desert, set among pink adobe walls, shaded patios, flowering garden paths, and palms. The property includes 90 rooms and suites, each reached by garden paths and arranged with private entrances that give the accommodations a sense of seclusion. Its 14-acre grounds also include a pool and tennis courts, creating a setting that combines lodging, dining, recreation, and gatherings in one Tucson destination.

The Inn's history began with Isabella Greenway, Arizona's first congresswoman. In 1929, Greenway opened The Arizona Hut, a furniture workshop created to provide meaningful employment for disabled World War I veterans. In response to the Great Depression, she established Arizona Inn in 1930, helping generate demand for the workshop's craftsmanship while creating a hospitality retreat in the desert. That founding purpose remains part of the property's story. Arizona Inn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, recognizing its architectural and cultural significance in Tucson. In 2025, a new chapter began under local stewardship focused on preserving the Inn's legacy and carrying it forward.

Guest rooms and suites reflect the property's established character, with sunlit interiors, thoughtful details, and a quiet relationship to the surrounding gardens. Dining is presented in several settings, including beneath cathedral ceilings, beside the pool, and within the privacy of a casita. The Inn describes its food as bringing Southwestern character together with refined craft, with the rhythm of dining shaped by season and setting. The Audubon Bar and Patio is temporarily closed for renovation, while the property continues to feature other dining options and events. Its event calendar has included weekend brunch, live Latin music, live saxophone, cocktails in the Library, and complimentary Pilates sessions.

Arizona Inn also hosts weddings, meetings, and corporate events. Wedding ceremonies can take place beneath open Tucson skies, with receptions and other gatherings held in elegant interiors. Meetings and events accommodate groups from 30 to 200, including board sessions, conferences, corporate retreats, and strategic gatherings. The spaces are described as suited to focused conversation and purposeful work, while the historic surroundings provide a distinct setting for celebrations and professional occasions. The property's wedding and event offerings are shaped by its adobe architecture, garden paths, and long history of welcoming gatherings.

For visitors exploring southern Arizona, Arizona Inn positions itself as a base for experiencing Tucson's natural and cultural attractions. The property highlights nearby destinations including the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and Sabino Canyon, along with the broader combination of desert landscapes, museums, and urban activity found throughout the city. Guests can spend time on the grounds, use the pool and tennis courts, dine at the Inn, or plan outings beyond the property. Those interested in staying, dining, attending an event, or arranging a wedding or meeting can begin through Arizona Inn's booking and planning options. Its Tucson setting, casita-style accommodations, historic grounds, and range of gathering spaces make the Inn suitable for overnight stays as well as special occasions and organized events.
